Anything Goes Friday

Been a while since I posted on a Friday. I just couldn't wait any longer. There is a little project I am dabbling with here and there. Nothing serious (yet) but I am loving the characters and it is something very new for me.

Genre: New Adult Paranormal

I have been working on a NA and the Nether books are paranormal, but I haven't pushed the two together before. It's dark. Really dark, murderous and seductive. Let me just put it this way. Vampires don't sparkle. No seriously they don't. Sorry to burst that bubble for you. Back in 2000 I started working on a vampire series. It slowly slipped to the back burner with other projects and I wanted to give this whole vampire craze time to...readjust. I pick with it here and there but today someone mentioned something in a conversation and the light bulb flicked back on. This time it was really bright. Brighter than before. See, about six years ago I got stuck with this story. Stuck and frustrated because all that Twilight stuff that made my blood boil.

Until today.

My vampires are murderous and hungry creatures. They don't hunt animals. They don't sparkle. They are evil and yes there are some who have a small conscious, but they are very few and far between. They don't fall in love with emo stricken expressionless teenage girls and they sure as heck don't fight for the greater good of mankind.

Blood drives them, human blood. There is nothing pretty about it.

I will make the world fear vampires again and at the same time fall in love with them for all the right reasons. You can't love something without a little bit of hate. These are my characters. You'll love and hate them and in the end hopefully you'll be starving for more.

Here are the two main characters:

I have wanted to write with the inspiration of my MC's being Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Natalie Dormer for years. And this revamped vamp story is perfect. It takes place in the present and the past and these two are so inspiring. Heck, they're gorgeous.

Gorgeous and by the looks of that picture...deadly.

*insert evil laugh here*

And here are the two main theme songs for this little diddy:

Garbage - I Would Die For You
Romeo and Juliet Soundtrack

Lana Delrey - Young & Beautiful
Great Gatsby Soundtrack

Oh and the title to this steamy read: The Soulless

Have a great weekend everyone

  1. SUPER excited about the new project. Jonathan and Natalie are excellent vampire candidates. Much better than... Well. Let's not sling too much mud, shall we? Awesome song choices, as well; especially the Garbage hit from Romeo & Juliet. Still crank it up whenever I hear it.

#Writemotivation Week 1 Update

It is that time again! I missed March =(, but I am back with a vengeance for May! Here are my goals for this month:

Wrapping Up Write Motivation

Write Motivation goals:
1. Line by line edit third Nether Book.(Finished). 2. Get third Nether Book sent off to editor. (Finished). 3. Write another 20k on NA sci/fi  (not happening this month) 4. Blog at least twice a week. (I did my best). 5. Comment on more blogs. (FAIL)!
All in all I feel accomplished. I am super fail at commenting on blogs. However, I want all of you to know I do read them. It is part of my daily routine (usually while eating breakfast). So just know you've officially been stalked and I love you!
My biggest goal was to get the third Nether book off to the editor and ready for publishing in late June or early July. I succeeded in that and I'm very happy about it! What's up next? I won't lie. I have no hard deadlines until 2014. I am taking the rest of the year off to just write casually before and after my baby girl is born. When I have time, feel inspired, or need to stay sane. It's a weird feeling not having a pressing deadline. The sense of freedo…

Things I Am In Love With Lately

Number One:

Dracula on NBC
Anyone who knows me can tell you that I have a long time love with all things Dracula. I can't even count all the different versions I have of the Bram Stoker novel. So when NBC decided to make a period paranormal drama out of it, I had to check it out. I fell in love, hard. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays the cold and calculating count Dracula and I tell you what, he could nibble on my veins any day. Jonathan and I go way back. I have loved everything he has been in (especially the Tudors) so combine his hotness and my love of good old Drac and BANG, you've got yourself a swoon fest. The acting is great, the story line is legend with a nice new spin on things, and the music...
...the music is just slap you in the face stunning and inspiring. Who is the composer you ask? Another one of my favorites, Mr. Trevor Morris. Here is a nice little clip:
