Anything Goes Friday

Been a while since I posted on a Friday. I just couldn't wait any longer. There is a little project I am dabbling with here and there. Nothing serious (yet) but I am loving the characters and it is something very new for me.

Genre: New Adult Paranormal

I have been working on a NA and the Nether books are paranormal, but I haven't pushed the two together before. It's dark. Really dark, murderous and seductive. Let me just put it this way. Vampires don't sparkle. No seriously they don't. Sorry to burst that bubble for you. Back in 2000 I started working on a vampire series. It slowly slipped to the back burner with other projects and I wanted to give this whole vampire craze time to...readjust. I pick with it here and there but today someone mentioned something in a conversation and the light bulb flicked back on. This time it was really bright. Brighter than before. See, about six years ago I got stuck with this story. Stuck and frustrated because all that Twilight stuff that made my blood boil.

Until today.

My vampires are murderous and hungry creatures. They don't hunt animals. They don't sparkle. They are evil and yes there are some who have a small conscious, but they are very few and far between. They don't fall in love with emo stricken expressionless teenage girls and they sure as heck don't fight for the greater good of mankind.

Blood drives them, human blood. There is nothing pretty about it.

I will make the world fear vampires again and at the same time fall in love with them for all the right reasons. You can't love something without a little bit of hate. These are my characters. You'll love and hate them and in the end hopefully you'll be starving for more.

Here are the two main characters:

I have wanted to write with the inspiration of my MC's being Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Natalie Dormer for years. And this revamped vamp story is perfect. It takes place in the present and the past and these two are so inspiring. Heck, they're gorgeous.

Gorgeous and by the looks of that picture...deadly.

*insert evil laugh here*

And here are the two main theme songs for this little diddy:

Garbage - I Would Die For You
Romeo and Juliet Soundtrack

Lana Delrey - Young & Beautiful
Great Gatsby Soundtrack

Oh and the title to this steamy read: The Soulless

Have a great weekend everyone

  1. SUPER excited about the new project. Jonathan and Natalie are excellent vampire candidates. Much better than... Well. Let's not sling too much mud, shall we? Awesome song choices, as well; especially the Garbage hit from Romeo & Juliet. Still crank it up whenever I hear it.

Birthday Bliss

I turned thirty seven this past weekend (cringe), but I had a blast doing it!

My husband and daughter made me cards (I prefer these versus bought cards). I love that they take the time to make a card each year, it makes me feel extra special. Although, this year kiddo's car was a "flat card", her words. She didn't want to fold the artwork. I totally get you, mini me.

Saturday I had a kid free day with a friend and we spent hours laughing and thrift shopping. I found some great treasures and even a pair of bright flowery running shorts. I will take a picture of said shorts as they embarrassed my friend and she vowed NOT to be seen running with me at our next race if I wore them. I took that as a compliment and a challenge. =P Later that night hubby and kiddo took me to dinner at my favorite Thai restaurant (they aren't open on Sundays).

Sunday I finally checked out one of those bar/painting shops. Five girlfriends and I drank, laughed, painted and had a great tim…

#Writemotivation Week 1 Update

It is that time again! I missed March =(, but I am back with a vengeance for May! Here are my goals for this month:

Spring Break 2017

Kiddo is only in preschool, but their preschool still had spring break. The teachers needed I break and I can totally respect that. Here are some pictures of our week:

Day One:
Made a homemade chalkboard for outside. I decided on a smaller piece of wood that I could move in and out of the garage and not have to worry about leaving it out all year and deal with weather damage. So far it has been  a huge success but a major pain in the butt to clean. I little cleaning research and I will be golden.

Day 2:
Working in the garden. Kiddo and I love working in the garden and she even planted her own daisies that she is now responsible for. She loves going out to check on them every day (we planted seeds so she is eagerly waiting for them to sprout) and when it is watering day it's sheer bliss for her!

Day 3:
Dance Class (no photos because they are pretty strict about that at her dance studio) and after lunch some good playtime at the park!

Day 4:
We must have partied too hard the first …
