VMA's 2013

You know I had to go here. VMA's happened last night. Well, I was at a wedding but I made a point to record and catch up on what went down.

First things first:

NSYNC!! Yes, I admit it. Back in the days of non-crazy Britney Spears, I loved me some Nsync. JT, enough said! I loved his curly mop back then.

What did you think? They did Bye, Bye and I went nuts watching it!! Loved the dance moves even with the little slip up. Those men still got it!!

Next up: Katy Perry and Roar. I really enjoyed this performance. People are complaining she looked to slutty. Um...what? Seriously? Did you see Miley's performance? Katy was far from slutty. I love Katy Perry and I think this performance was totally Katy and very tasteful. Haters are going to hate, but she did wonderful. And under the bridge was super neat!!

And even though I am a bit tired and over Taylor Swift, I had to laugh at her acceptance speech. She totally called out Harry Styles and it was funny. I feel she did it in good humor and he didn't seem phased by it.

Then there are the WTF VMA moments. Two in general:

Lady Gaga

Not that it was horrible, but Lady Gaga has always just confused me...

Lastly, you know I couldn't leave Miley Cyrus out of this post. Do I need to even comment?

??

Did you watch the VMA's? What was your favorite part?

  1. I didn't watch, but I certainly heard all about Miley this morning! Wow. Who knows what's going on in her head?

  2. I did not watch the VMAs. I saw a few folks facebooking about Lady Gaga and wondering WTF was wrong with Miley Cyrus. I paused the video the moment Miley kicked her leg out, cringed her face, stuck her tongue out and appeared to be a sex deranged fiend.

And what was slutty about Katy Perry? I'd like to see some folks call female boxers slutty and see if they can still talk after getting a left-right-hook combo dropped on them.

    1. I agree Angela! Miley reminded me a bit of Gwen Stefani in her early days, but with less clothes and a lot less class.

Hiatus Over & Why I Was Gone So Long

I am going to sum up my hiatus with one adorable picture:

No, I wasn't just distracted by his cuteness. This little dude suffered a terrible spinal injury while being micro-chipped. No one was at fault. The accident was simply a freak accident. Tragic, but rare and totally a freak thing. Surgery was done and I can say he is recovering well. But, his healing process is a long one and I have never worked with or rehabilitated a partially paralyzed animal before. This is a first for me and I am learning so much.  My shelter is so lucky to have such an amazing and talented vet staff.

I also want to thank the human mom of Waverly McTinybeans for all her advice and taking the time to give it. I know she is a super busy lady and I appreciated every tip.

I have spoken to multiple vets, RVT's and watched every youtube video I could find to help give this guy the best physical therapy I am able. He starts acupuncture sessions next week and little by little he makes progress. His left si…

Introducing a New Cat into a Household

Fostering the Drive

To say I have been busy is an understatement. I have a good excuse. Let me show you:

I have been fostering bottle baby kittens.

I struggled with many things in my life except this. Other than motherhood (which shocked me) I took to fostering right away. Long ago I wanted to travel the world, be a successful writer, and get rich off my crafty etsy side. I dabbled in some of those and quickly realized that I wasn't good at them. I never seemed to have the dedication or the drive to push me further. The will to keep going forward even on the hardest days. But, saving neonate kittens clicked with me. My soul stopped wandering. I no longer search for the legacy I will leave behind. I understand now that saving animals, especially cats has always been my calling.

I still have a long way to go in my journey but I will advocate for these little souls. I will fight to help them have the best start in life and I will learn everything I can as a feline behaviorist to campaign for the rights…
