Monday Funday

I am going to try and post something funny each Monday. Since many of my novels are emotionally dark I tend to miss humor a lot. A writer friend of mine suggested I write a comedy novel, well, I don't know if I could write a humorous novel all the way through. A short story, maybe. We all need a little fun in our lives especially in today's world.

I find myself running around the house today as my kiddo naps cleaning like a mad woman. We host Monday Night Football each season and tonight are the first two opening games. What does that mean? COMPANY IS COMING. Guys, I have a three year old and three cats. My house looks like a constant toy tornado went off and there is fur everywhere. This means I have to clean. Scrub bathrooms, vacuum, and pick up toys. Oh, and try and make the house smell nice in the process. Not that it smells bad but, I always have this fear that it does.

I remembered a video skit I saw a couple of months ago and thought it was hilarious. Tod…

We Must Teach In Order to Learn

I love when my husband gets to be home on a weekday and help me with her pre-school lessons. They both love space so science it was today. She had a good lesson about planets and mainly earth (for what a 3 year old can comprehend).

I will be sad and excited when she actually starts school, but I won't stop teaching her some things at home. I think as a parent, if you have the time, it is an injustice to your child if you don't. They love to learn at this age so we try to turn things in to fun lessons when we can. Teach her so she doesn't even realize she is learning sort of thing. There are so many things the schools have had to cut now a days and it saddens me that she won't learn some of the things I did as a kid, and yet, she will still learn a great deal more.
