Spring Break 2017

Kiddo is only in preschool, but their preschool still had spring break. The teachers needed I break and I can totally respect that. Here are some pictures of our week:

Day One:
Made a homemade chalkboard for outside. I decided on a smaller piece of wood that I could move in and out of the garage and not have to worry about leaving it out all year and deal with weather damage. So far it has been  a huge success but a major pain in the butt to clean. I little cleaning research and I will be golden.
Sexy aren't I?

First coat and drying phase.
Day 2:
Working in the garden. Kiddo and I love working in the garden and she even planted her own daisies that she is now responsible for. She loves going out to check on them every day (we planted seeds so she is eagerly waiting for them to sprout) and when it is watering day it's sheer bliss for her!

This is the butterfly garden we have been working on all spring.
She loves making rainbows with the hose.
We made a bee drinker, so the bees can land on the rocks and drink without drowning in the regular bird bath.
Day 3:
Dance Class (no photos because they are pretty strict about that at her dance studio) and after lunch some good playtime at the park!

I really love the parks in our area
Sandbox, classic favorite.
Day 4:
We must have partied too hard the first three days because kiddo woke up with the yucky vomit stuff.

This was pretty much how we spent our whole day. We watched a lot of movies.
Day 5:
Rain and a trip to the Doctor.

Visit to the doctor to get the nasty cold under control. It took some convincing to get her to wear the cough mask.
The whole day was cold and rainy so she was delighted when Daddy came home from work and they played video games side by side. WoW for him and ABC Mouse for her.

Back to preschool this week and back to working on my WIP. I love my baby girl, but I also love my kiddo free writing time. Hope you all had a great week and weekend.

xoxo

Hiatus Over & Why I Was Gone So Long

I am going to sum up my hiatus with one adorable picture:

No, I wasn't just distracted by his cuteness. This little dude suffered a terrible spinal injury while being micro-chipped. No one was at fault. The accident was simply a freak accident. Tragic, but rare and totally a freak thing. Surgery was done and I can say he is recovering well. But, his healing process is a long one and I have never worked with or rehabilitated a partially paralyzed animal before. This is a first for me and I am learning so much.  My shelter is so lucky to have such an amazing and talented vet staff.

I also want to thank the human mom of Waverly McTinybeans for all her advice and taking the time to give it. I know she is a super busy lady and I appreciated every tip.

I have spoken to multiple vets, RVT's and watched every youtube video I could find to help give this guy the best physical therapy I am able. He starts acupuncture sessions next week and little by little he makes progress. His left si…

#Writemotivation Week 1 Update

It is that time again! I missed March =(, but I am back with a vengeance for May! Here are my goals for this month:

Nick Furry

I have been fostering these two adorable house panthers since they were two weeks old. At around four weeks of age I started to noticed something wrong with the little male's left eye.

I contacted my foster coordinator who had me bring him in so our in house vet could take a look at him. She was a bit baffled at what could be causing it so we tested him for various illnesses/cat diseases and they all came back negative. At four weeks old there isn't a lot we could do except wait and see what happened and how the eye developed. After another week I could tell he didn't seem to have vision in that eye and slowly the entire eye globe started to swell. Well, I woke up last Tuesday morning to this:
The vet had me bring him back in and it was apparent the eye would need to be removed. We did not know if it could be a tumor or glaucoma or what the heck the poor little dude had going on. The only issue was that he was tiny and only 1.5 lbs. Typically it isn't that great to do …
