Fostering the Drive

To say I have been busy is an understatement. I have a good excuse. Let me show you:

T'Challa and Shuri. Black Panther Litter 2018.

Ron, from the Harry Potter Litter. 2018

Oliver & Company Litter 2018. Oliver, Dodger and Jenny.

I have been fostering bottle baby kittens.

I struggled with many things in my life except this. Other than motherhood (which shocked me) I took to fostering right away. Long ago I wanted to travel the world, be a successful writer, and get rich off my crafty etsy side. I dabbled in some of those and quickly realized that I wasn't good at them. I never seemed to have the dedication or the drive to push me further. The will to keep going forward even on the hardest days. But, saving neonate kittens clicked with me. My soul stopped wandering. I no longer search for the legacy I will leave behind. I understand now that saving animals, especially cats has always been my calling.

I still have a long way to go in my journey but I will advocate for these little souls. I will fight to help them have the best start in life and I will learn everything I can as a feline behaviorist to campaign for the rights and lives of all cats and kittens (and all animals).

This will be the legacy I leave behind and I have already started...

Our children are the future and we teach by doing not saying.

I will have more blog posts in the near future. Please forgive the absence as I have been working round the clock since fostering and I am readjusting my schedule.

Help, My Cat is Pooping Outside the Litter Box!

This is Princess Leia. Lately, little miss Leia has had a bit of an issue. She's been pooping outside of the litter boxes. See? Even a cat behaviorist can have cats with issues. Luckily, Leia's problem was quickly and easily diagnosed. My Bengal, Loki, had been bullying her away from the litter boxes. We set up a nice little box for her in a quiet area of the house and she hasn't had any issues since. I really think she is enjoying the fact she gets her own powder room. But, there can be many reasons a kitty starts this type of behavior so I am going to go over the most common ones below.

Here are some of the basic reasons:

1. A recent litter brand change.
Cats are huge creatures of habit and often finicky when it comes to their poop dirt. If you recently changed their litter try going back to the old stuff.   2. The litter isn't deep enough.
Some cats love a lot of litter and are big diggers. If they don't have enough litter (an amount to their liking, not yours) k…

Introducing a New Cat into a Household

Why Does My Cat Hate My Significant Other?

If you're reading this then I am guessing you've come here because you have a very mad kitty. I am also going to guess said kitty doesn't like your significant other. Don't worry, it happens. Cats aren't like dogs. You can't just tempt them with a little piece of steak and throw a tennis ball to become friends. If you try that your cat is just going to give you the above look and walk away hell bent on destroying your new relationship. Never underestimate kitty, they're smarter than we think.

You might even have adopted a new cat that took to you easily, but just down right dislikes the other person in your life. That's okay. There's something about an immediate bond with a cat. If you get that special moment you're lucky. If your partner does not, maybe some of the following tips can help.

1. Feeding Time:
If you're the only one feeding kitty, start letting your partner prepare the cat's food and actually feed the meal. Kitty might not …
